*sigh*. politics.

I am not an individual with a political mind. Once in a while I try to listen to some of the issues and make my own best judgments on the world around me. I vote, and really that's as romantic as I get with politics.

... but I am really confused about all of the hubbub around President Obama addressing children in a back to school speech.

I guess the way I feel about it is... why should it be easier for Ronald McDonald to talk to my kids than it is for the President of the country in which they live?

  1. Yep. I'm missing the point, too. There's bigger things to think about.

  2. I just read about this a couple minutes ago and thought the same thing. I don't understand what the fuss is about. It hurts my head. Not that I usually spend a lot of time dwelling on these topics, but I do think that our country is losing its edge in the world and the only way to improve that is through more education... who better to inspire that than the current president (note I didn't necessarily say Obama... I think whoever is the current president should encourage staying in school like this).

Sigh is right. Maybe Obama should dress up as Ronald McDonald during his speech. Would that calm things down?
